Baja Placemats

Kit designed by Lunatic Fringe using Lunatic Fringe yarns. 

Welcome to Baja Mexico where the desert meets the Sea of Cortez! Cliffs of volcanic rock tower over gorgeous beaches in quiet coves where the water changes from brilliant turquoise in the shallows to deep blue in the depths. The pattern reflects the patterns of Mexican textiles. The pattern is bands of Summer and Winter, woven in Dukagang style.  Kit makes 4 placemats, approximately 13″ x 18″.  

Kit Details:

• Kit contains yarn and instructions to make 4 placemats (approximately 13” x 18” (hemmed))
• Woven structure:  Summer and Winter bands, woven Dukagang style
• 20 epi (Sley 2 per dent in a 10 dent reed)
• 4 harness
• 15” wide in reed, 3.75-yard warp

Kit comes with yarn for  the Sand or Sea colorway, pick one.  4 place mats woven on at least a 4 harness loom.  Using tabby with the summer and winter pattern is what makes this pattern a 2 Fish-Listen to the Loon pattern.

100% mercerized 10/2 cotton yarn will stay bright for years through repeated washings.  All colors are very wash fast.
